On Tuesday we, Rang a Sé, went to the National Ploughing Championship in Ratheniska Co.Laois. We left the school on the bus at 9:15a.m and were held up by traffic for a while. On the way we saw lots of nice houses and fields. When we got there we got to ride in a trailer being towed by a tractor. Then we walked around and saw lots of big tractors and ploughs. We went to an Aldi tent; they had lots of nice food and drinks.
After that we had our lunch while watching the ploughs,. Mr. Mac Mathuna kindly bought
us all an ice-cream it was very nice. We then split up into three groups. We tried loads
of nice samples and got free pens and hats. Afterwards we went to the RTE tent and
saw presenters on live radio and saw people present the weather.
Next that we went to a few stalls and got nice cocktail sausages. Some people bought handmade chocolate. We saw lots of big horses and cows. We saw lots of farming machinery and supplies.
Then finally we made our way back to the bus. I thought it was a great day and unique. I hope I can go next year. It was very interesting, exciting and engaging.
