We've been so busy in 5th Class since we started back in September that we haven't had a moment to share some of our news.
We have been learning about electricity and electric circuits in Science. Here are photos of us in action.
Gach lá bímid ag iarraidh Gaeilge a úsáid chomh minic agus is féidir linn. Deir ár múinteoir go bhfuil an-obair déanta againn! Úsaidimid Gaeilge chun cabhar a chur ar fáil, mínigh a lorg agus a chur in iúl agus cumarsáid a dhéanamh le chéile. Ba é Harry Rí na Gaeilge an tseachtain seo chaite. Maith thú Harry!
We were learning about The Aztecs in History and then put our hand to making our own sun stones using clay and tools. They turned out very well and we were pleased with our effort. Recently we have also been making papier maché bowls. We painted them in either warm or cool colours.
In P.E. we have been learning some folk dances from different countries. We also looked at the Haka from New Zealand and can now perform our very own Haka as Gaeilge. We may present it at tionól when it's our turn to perform.
We have been reading the novel 'Holes' by Louis Sachar and have been doing drama based on some of the scenes from the book.
We have just completed projects based on the theme 'Influential People'. We did lots of research in school and at home, worked together and independently and then presented the finished product to the class. People who we researched included Steve Jobs, Nelson Mandela, Messi, Taylor Swift, Albert Einstein and Brian O'Driscoll. Here we are working in the Computer Room.
This is just a little flavour of what we've been up to. We'll post again soon! :)
