The principal aim of learning support is to optimise the teaching and learning process in order to enable pupils with additional educational needs to achieve their optimal levels of proficiency in literacy and numeracy as they progress through primary school.    

In order to achieve this aim and to enable pupils to participate to the best of their ability in the curriculum, we:

• Provide supplementary teaching and additional support for these pupils

• Promote positive self-esteem and positive attitudes towards learning

• Encourage and support parents in supporting their children's learning

• Create, implement and review learning targets

• Put in place early intervention programmes and other programmes designed to enhance and to prevent/reduce difficulties in learning
